Town Meeting Member Candidate Statement

Nearly 20 years ago, I chose Arlington as my home. Today, as a parent of sons at Ottoson and Minuteman Tech who is deeply invested in this community, I'm ready to serve you at Town Meeting.

What I bring:

• MBA and executive leadership in communications, business development, project management, finance, and negotiation

• Years working in educational nonprofits where I learned how to turn vision into results

• Proven community leadership, from co-founding school diversity groups to helping establish the ArCS Cluster refugee resettlement program

• A track record of effective advocacy on warrant articles for sanctuary protections, parking equity, and police accountability

But experience only matters if you know how to apply it to the future... Here's what I'll fight for:

Affordable housing that worksNot just building units, but protecting current residents from displacement through thoughtful redevelopment and cost-of-living protections.

Genuine inclusion - Making Arlington welcoming can't just be a talking point, it demands intentional policy and sustained effort.

Fiscal responsibility with heart  -  My background in finance means that I understand budgets, but my community work means I never forget the people behind the numbers.

You'll often see me at Robbins Farm or Menotomy Rocks Park, at First Parish, and at school events. I'm accessible, I listen, and I get things done.

I'm ready to work for you. Questions? Please email lynettemartyn@gmail.com.
